First, the Spirit drove Jesus into the desert as soon as Jesus was baptized.
Then, after Jesus was put to death by man, He was brought to life by the Spirit.
Yesterday was not "Talk Day" and today we will not meet at Mark's house. Just like Noah and his family took to the safety of the ark when the floods came, our Cursillo needs a new boat.
Until we get that, the Spirit has driven our "team" out into the desert. Thanks to the covenant of friendship God established with us as descendants of Noah, he promises a rainbow of hope. There will be rebirth.
Just as God waited patiently in the days of Noah, we must wait as well. But let's also do our hiatus in the hard-working Spirit of Noah. With hammer and nails, with wood and water, with sweat and blood, Noah built his ark of safety. Jesus built a new ark and a new covenant with likewise. With the wood of the cross, the nails of the Romans, with the bread of his body and the wine of his blood, he established a new baptism, a new friendship.
Today, as you attend Mass for the First Sunday in Lent, bring the intentions of our Cursillo there in your heart. The Kingdom of God is at hand.
Are you called to action? Can you help the weekend committee find a new boat so we can do more fishing?
